On the evening of May 16, 2025, the Class of 2025 at Pikes Peak Online School had a chance to trade virtual learning for a vibrant, in-person celebration. Held at the scenic Riverwalk Clubhouse in Littleton, the “70’s Groovy” prom brought together more than 100 students from across Colorado to honor a classic high school tradition, and most importantly, to make lasting memories.

While Pikes Peak Online School students spend most of their time learning independently and engaging with teachers and classmates online, this night was all about showing up in-person, having fun, and connecting with peers outside of the digital world. Students arrived in bold prom attire ready to embrace the evening’s disco-inspired theme, complete with music, games, and a buzzing photo booth.

Prom has long been considered a rite of passage. That’s why Pikes Peak Online School ensures its students can participate in the same social milestones as their brick-and-mortar counterparts. The school’s leadership team, along with dedicated staff and volunteers, helped create a festive and welcoming environment where every student could feel seen, celebrated, and supported.

Whether students came to dance the night away or simply share a laugh with friends, the event brought out a strong sense of community. Some met face-to-face for the very first time after building connections in virtual classrooms and online clubs. Others reunited with familiar faces they’ve grown close to throughout their educational journey at Pikes Peak Online School.

This event was just one example of how Pikes Peak Online School supports not only academic achievement but also the emotional and social development of its students. With graduation shortly after, prom was a meaningful sendoff, reminding students that no matter how they choose to learn, their high school experience can still be filled with friendship, joy, and unforgettable moments.
